Heart and Stone - York Region Photographer

Now this was a blast (I think I say that alot, lol)! Extremely loud rock that vibrated through my clothing and entire body as I photographed this band, Heart and Stone. What an incredible rush bringing me back to my youth! If you are a frequent reader you know how much I love photographing this type of lighting. It can be extremely challenging as you really need to work at an aperture of 2.8 or lower and you must be on your toes but the whole experience from the vibe in the room to the music to photographing the performer WOW. The band had 45 minutes and no word of a lie it blew by and felt like 5 minutes. I really don't think I could love my job more of coarse when I think that I love it just a bit more, lol.

Thank you to Heart and Stone for commissioning me to do this for you I can't thank you enough and hey if you need an album cover do I ever have some ideas!!!

Trash The Dress - York Region Wedding Photographers

This was SO MUCH FUN! I really wanted the golden hour as the fall is so out of this world amazing for light. We only had an hour and a half of good solid light time but between Heather, the location and the light nothing could be beat! I loved this location and I will be using many many more times to come there was so much possibility I would go back every day, LMAO!

A huge THANK YOU to Heather in volunteering to do this for my portfolio! Heather is a past client that you will see in my Newborn gallery. I love working with you Heather and I am sad to see you go back to the US soon.

Now trash the dress doesn’t necessarily mean "trash your wedding dress" it's really more about getting out doing something crazy to wear it again and just have fun in it! If you are interested I have many more ideas for this (most including water) so if you are up for it give me a shout!

Also for anyone looking for Fall portrait sessions I hate to put this out there so urgently but honestly the weather is NOW the light is INCREDIBLE if you are thinking about it lets do it!

Long Weekend - York Region Portrait Photographer

Boy oh boy was I reminded this weekend just why it is SO important to take time off! I have been so busy with work and renovations this summer we have not had one weekend off. While it may have rained I really really just enjoyed myself. It is amazing as to how much the creativity effortlessly flows right back in when it is not forced. We spent our time shopping for antiques which I may add I found some AMAZING new props for the scrumptious babies we are expecting for photo session this month! I am so excited to use them I think they are going to be incredible!

Other than that the cottage has been growing some HUGE insects this year. I don't particularly like inspects especially spiders but they are fascinating to photograph. Our daughter came home about 3 weeks ago from the cottage with their nana and papa and brought home this massive spider. I mean I have never seen anything like this thing in Canada. It was so large I insisted it go right back outside (as I did a wimpy girly dance). I had visions of this thing getting out. Not a word of a lie or exaggeration it was much larger than my hand! Unbelievable I know but take my word for it it was unreal. Well this weekend Michael found nun other than a real life Black Widow Spider. I have never seen one of these in real life before so what do you think happened??? Of course I had to photograph it! She was bigger than I would have expected and caring for an egg sac (ewwwwe). It was quit a moment. Here is a small piece of what was produced.

Onword to another cool week!  One of the babies has been born and I am looking forward to a maternity shoot!  Very exciting week.
